A welcome - and seemingly necessary - antidote to the toxically immature male terror that is plaguing the Western World; the Stag (or, preferably, the antique “Hart”) represents the classical horned “masculine” energy, as a force that is just, wise, and mature. A disciplined force, of lasting strength. 

The Hart’s masculinity is that of Jupiter as God of Law - of Divine Order - He that exemplifies the majesty of a creature that is in control of his base instincts. This controlled manner stands in contrast to the awkward, young, and reckless “horny” power of the young buck…perhaps, symbolically, better understood as Zeus, in his visage as a liberally-fertilizing Storm God.

Traditionally associated with - and protected by - the King, the mature male Deer is a long-standing emblem of the Regent. It’s natural, then, that the King of the Gods would likewise bear the Stag as an emblem. 

As with many of our sculpts, we have updated this year’s Cvltvs Cervidae head to “keep up” with our sculptural competency. We feel the “age up”, that this sculpt has received, better reflects the symbolism of the Stag, and their relationship to Jupiter.
