The Horse was one of the few remaining “big” animal familiars, that the Cvlt hadn’t yet represented. The Horse tribe represents a whole *community* of folks, witched or otherwise, and these majestic animals represent an unusually strong connection between human and non-human entities. This symbiotic and reciprocal relationship serves as an excellent model for the practitioner who seeks such relationships, with spirits.

The symbolic and sympathetic nature of the Horse is frequently - and understandably - associated with the war diety, Mars. Indeed, the Chaldean material describes Hekate’s equine aspect as corresponding to Brimo, Her most fiery form. The Horse is, here, an infernal spiritual creature of smoke and passion, rather than the sea-born, Poseidon ruled terrestrial creatures of Earth. These Lunar acolytes presage a (literally) larger corpus of Hekate devotional statuary that will be offered during our annual Samhain travels.
